i didnt think id have to spell everything out for you.

Chippy play: taking little cheap shots at the other team to try to provoke them. Not necessarily dirty or hurtful just annoying to the other team.

Dirty play: figured this was easy to figure out, taking runs at players, slashing, blatently hurting players. Those vids in the previous link had ike 4-5 videos of dirty play. That is my proof I didn't think this was hard to figure out.

Yes the Wings struggled in game 1, it was obvious they were being out played but hung in there and made it an exciting game to watch. Win or lose I love watching playoff hockey. Heck, after the Wings banged up season I was just happy to see them make the playoffs. Doan had a hell of a game, I have always respected him as a player. He's phyiscal but not dirty. His big hits are clean, sure sometimes player jump when they hit but players like Doan and Kronwall are not blind siding folks. It's usually more like cathcing players with their heads down. When that happens BOOM! crushing hit. If they get called for charging thats a bummer but its still not a blindsided head hit.

Anyway, I can respect you defending the Penguins since I flat out said "The Pittsburgh Penguins are a goon team and do not deserve to win in the playoffs." but that is because I think they take cheap shots, simple as that. If you disagree that is fine but there's no way the Wings are a dirty team.

Good luck to our teams in game their game three's today!

Where's the evidence of the Pens actually taking out star players? Show me some proof.

You're not making sense. Are you saying you don't mind chippy play, or it's dirty? Yeah, the Pens occasionallly slash and crosscheck. Welcome to the big leages. The Wings do it too. *Gasp*

I call the Wings small because they are. There's only two players on their top two lines over 6'. Holmstrom is big, but has, by far the worst center of gravity I've ever seen. Martin St. Louis laid him out for god-sakes.

As for fearful, don't tell me you think they played with confidence and courage Wednesday night. They saw Shane Doan coming and nearly dropped a load right there. And who on the team is gonna answer that? Zetterberg? Even Micky Redmond said that night, "Doan is the complete player." He'll score goals, play defense, and put you through the end boards.

I never said word one about fighting. But the Wings can, and do, get discouraged when a whole team comes out hitting. Do you really think the Wings played a good game on Wed night? I think they started out amazing. From the second period on, however, Doan and company completely changed the tone. The Wings wanted nothing to do with the puck or the middle of the ice. They knew what would happen. That's why I'm picking on the Wings. There's no physical toughness.

As for "clean" hits, your boy on the link even admits Kronwall jumps like Michael Jordan during those hits. And I'll take a slash on a heavily padded forearm or hand over goaltender interference any day of the week. Just wait until someone starts doing it to Howard. You'll change your tune real quick.
